OUR PHILOSOPHY

Effective public speaking is a skill not a talent. To develop any skill, you need to know the techniques. Once you know the techniques you need to practice.

Therefore, our workshops are practical, dynamic and really good fun! We create a positive environment where the participants develop their skills and overcome their insecurities. 

By the end of the course they will know how to communicate confidently and credibly in any public situation.

OUR METHODOLOGY

We divide our methodology into five parts. 

THE THEORY OF PUBLIC SPEAKING:

We start with a brief overview of theory of rhetoric. This includes the three key elements of effective communication – logos, pathos and ethos and the five parts of a speech – invention, arrangement, style, memory and delivery. 

PUBLIC SPEAKING IN ACTION:

Then we observe and analyze the key moments in relevant business and political speeches. We discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the speeches and how the speakers use rhetorical devices in order to give their message more impact.

Each speech is followed by quantitative and qualitative feedback from the audience and the moderator. 

DELIVERING SPEECHES:

Armed with the necessary tools and techniques, we create, write and deliver our own speeches. This will include both live speeches over the online platform and recorded speeches using smartphone technology.

CONTINUAL LEARNING:

The workshop is concluded with the series of key takeaways, after which the participants are given various resources to continue to develop their public speaking skills on an ongoing basis.

THE ONLINE WORKSHOP ESSENTIALS

The maximum number of students is 10 people. 

The course is arranged over four weeks with live sessions of up to two hours each. Time passes very quickly when you are learning and having fun! 

The sessions are live and interactive and delivered by Sam Gratton over the ZOOM platform.

The methodology is highly interactive and will keep all the participants fully engaged throughout the session. 

The theory is delivered before each class together with a task to prepare before the next session. 

Materials will be sent in advance too, including all the essential theory as well as the exercise sheets. 

Challenges will be set between the sessions, including the filming of short videos which will be assessed on an ongoing basis by Sam.

Sam will be available throughout the four weeks to answer questions and offer advice. 

 

INSTRUCTOR

Sam Gratton is an expert in business communication skills. After completing his MBA at IESE Business School, he worked as an Executive Director at JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs and Banco Santander in London where he was in charge of the UK credit sales teams.

He moved to Spain with his family ten years ago to launch his own consulting company. He currently advises CEOs and senior directors of multinational companies on all aspects of business communication. He also designs and runs workshops throughout Europe and is currently a guest lecturer of Leadership Communication at ESAME Business School in Madrid. 

Sam loves filmmaking and has written, produced and directed a number of short films that have been screened at festivals around the world. He currently produces weekly LinkedIn videos on Business Communication Skills directed at non-native English-speaking professionals. He has more than 65,000 followers and his videos have been viewed over 6 million times.

All live session are scheduled to take place on Thursdays from 14:00 to 16:00.

 

PRICE

The price of the online workshop is €350 per person. This includes:

 

  • 2 hours of recorded video material

  • 8 hours of live and interactive online workshops 

  • 10 participants

  • Four weeks of study

  • All materials

The training is IVA (VAT) exempt.

 

You can book your place online. The payment options available are credit card or Paypal. If your company will pay for the course, we can arrange to invoice the company directly.

We also offer this course for COMPANIES with a group of minimum 8 participants. In this case, the course can be personalised for the company.
